African Climate Creatives Fellowship Closes Applications for 2nd Cohort

Applications have officially closed for the 2nd Cohort of the African Climate Creatives Fellowship (ACCF), a program designed to support young Africans using creativity and storytelling to drive climate action.

This year, the fellowship received 2,541 applications from over 20 countries across Africa, reflecting a growing interest among young people in using creative tools such as storytelling, digital media, and innovation to address climate change challenges.

The ACCF aims to empower emerging creatives to communicate climate issues in ways that are accessible, engaging, and community-driven. Participants typically work across disciplines including photography, filmmaking, podcasting, and creative reporting to amplify climate awareness and inspire action.

According to the program team, the volume of applications highlights a rising generation of young Africans who are increasingly seeing creativity not just as expression, but as a tool for social and environmental impact.

With applications now closed, the fellowship will move into its selection and review phase. Successful applicants will be contacted via email with updates on their application status by 14 June 2026.
